robust 2008
ROBUST 2008 is sponsored and organized by Carnegie Mellon CyLab - Biometrics Lab. The goal of the conference is to focus on state-of-the-art Biometrics, push the limits on current biometric identification technology, develop new science for dealing with less constrained, sub-optimally acquired data.
TOPics
Toics of interest include: face and iris recognition from sub-optimal data, low resolution face and iris recognition, less constrained biometric identification, ear biometric identification, relaxed constraint face & iris recognition, novel sensor design for less constrained biometric identification, optic system design fo face and iris acquisition, palmprint acquisition and recognition, robust speaker identification, ocular biometrics, soft biometrics, multi-biometric fusion, large scale recognition studies, Algorithms with experimental results on FRGC, ICE and Multi-Biometric Grand Challenge(MBGC) datasets, image quality metrics, 3D face recognition, modeling temporal changes of biometric modalities, score fusion algorithms, face synthesis, iris synthesis, illumination and pose tolerant biometric recognition, novel face recognition algorithm, novel iris recognition algorithms, fusion of 2D and 3D, novel feature extraction methods, gait analysis & recognition.
Location
ROBUST2008 will be held at the Marriott Waikiki in Hawaii. A special rate of $170/night has been established for ROBUST2008. Please note, ROBUST2008 rooms are all ocean view rooms. We encourage you to reserve your housing the same day you register because the special room rate and space is based on limited availability!
You may call the Marriott Waikiki to make your housing reservation directly. Please mention ROBUST2008 for your special conference rate. (800) 848-8110.
If you prefer to reserve your room online ROBUST2008 Hotel Reservations you need to enter the Group/Event code: LabLabA (Please note that this code is Case Sensitive)
Paper Submission
Prospective authors are encouraged to submit papers 4-6 pages in the two column IEEE format written in English, due to short schedule deadline extended abstract approx 1 page length are also welcome in single column 12pt Times-Roman font. At least Two members of the Scientific Committee will review each paper. Each accepted paper must have at least one uniquely registered author. The workshop proceedings will be published on CD. Authors of best papers will be invited to extend their paper for publication in IEEE/Wiley Book on Robust Biometrics.
Schedule:
Draft paper/extended abstracts due 10 September 2008
Notification of acceptance 15 September 2008
Final papers due after workshop
